John Hammink's literary work attempts to explore the intricacies of human relationships as manifest in language (body/verbal) and perception.
An Ohio native, he has moved over the years from Detroit to French Canada and Malaysia. These days, he spends most of his time between Helsinki, Finland and Tallinn, Estonia.
After a 12-year break from poetry ("December Poems" was featured on WDET radio in 1991); in the summer of 2003, he performed his short pieces at a variety of venues and events across the United States, including the University of Montana at Missoula and with the Cleveland Poetry Slam team in Ohio.
He is currently at work on a volume of his prose poetry called "Shards". You may find a rotating selection of works from this page.
